Clients: Meetings 2002
  • Met with representatives from the Department of Transportation and the Federal Railroad Administration to discuss benefits derived from the implementation of Nationwide Differential GPS and related funding issues.

  • Met with RESPA officials to discuss the inclusion and cost of surveys and the opportunity for home buyers to choose surveyors.

  • Attended a meeting of the Coalition for Outsourcing and Privatization to discuss Treasury/Postal appropriations that contain an amendment to the Truthfulness, Responsibility and Accountability in Contracting Act (H.R. 721) (S. 1152) and Circular A-76 revisions.

  • Participated in the First Friday programs of the Department of the Interior and met with key staff.

  • Met with Mark Holman, Deputy Assistant to the President for Homeland Security, to discuss the need for remote sensing and geospatial activities in the Department of Homeland Security.

  • Discussed Nationwide Differential GPS funding with members of the House and Senate Appropriations committees, including Senator Ted Stevens (R-AK) and Representative Bob Menendez (D-NJ).

  • Met with Senator Wayne Allard (R-CO) and his staff to discuss an amendment to create a geospatial information program within the new Department of Homeland Security.

  • Met with members of the Flood Map Modernization Coalition to discuss how to distribute efforts to support FEMA's plan to modernize flood maps.

  • Participated in a strategy meeting to oppose an amendment to the Department of Defense Authorization Act related to the Truthfulness, Responsibility and Accountability in Contracting Act (H.R. 721) (S. 1152) in order to further the client's goal of achieving a uniform procurement process.

  • Met with staff from the offices of Senators Bob Graham (D-FL), Rick Santorum (R-PA), and Lincoln Chafee (R-RI) to discuss the amendments to the Truthfulness, Responsibility and Accountability in Contracting Act (H.R. 721) (S. 1152).

  • Attended a Congressional hearing in the House Subcommittee on Telecommunications and the Internet to discuss the Ultra Wide Band legislation and the recent FCC order permitting a limited deployment of UWB technology.

  • Attended a strategy meeting to discuss the Federal Prison Industry Reform Bill (H.R. 1577).

  • Met with staff from the offices of Senators Bob Graham (D-FL), Lincoln Chafee (R-RI), and Rick Santorum (R-PA) to voice opposition to an amendment to the Department of Defense Authorization bill related to the Truthfulness, Responsibility and Accountability in Contracting Act (H.R. 721) (S. 1152).

  • Attended a briefing to show client support for the Bush Administration's proposed funding level of $300 million for the flood modernization program of the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
